Use 01 and 02 numbers for Local , Regional and National Advertising

Local Advertising ...in the Yellow Pages, Thomson Local Directory or a Local Town newspaper ???

If your market is "local," then you should seriously consider using a Local Area Code number for your advertising.

Research conducted in July 2007 by BT Business has shown that two thirds (66%) of consumers would rather buy goods and services locally and three quarters (77%) of people prefer to call a Local Area Code number close to where they live. Furthermore, Local Area numbers are much preferred by Consumers when compared to mobile telephone numbers - especially since the advent of television watchdog programmes which have influenced the public view to equate Business use of 07 numbers in advertising to be a sure indicator of a "Fly by Night" operation.

Build up your profile by getting a selection/cluster of local numbers from adjacent towns to widen your target audience and strengthen the business profile in each local area I.E. a South Yorkshire supplier located in Barnsley might choose to include local numbers for the three other major South Yorkshire towns, Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster. A cluster of local numbers implies strength of business presence in a wider area - especially effective when conducting regional advertising in Regional newspapers.

Probably the most effective application of Local area numbers is their use in Internet advertising. Since local suppliers depend largely on word of mouth advertising, the impact of a cluster of Local Area numbers on a website is great - both in encouraging customers to think more widely in considering referring a Company, and in providing a greater incentive to prospective new customers to contact a company when viewing the website!
